About me
Dr. Lischalk is a board-certified radiation oncologist with extensive experience in stereotactic radiosurgery, stereotactic body radiation therapy, intensity modulated radiation therapy, and proton beam therapy. Dr. Lischalk earned his medical doctorate from the University of Washington School of Medicine. He completed his internship in internal medicine at Stamford/Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, followed by his residency and chief residency in the Department of Radiation Medicine at Georgetown University Hospital.
Dr. Lischalk’s clinical research focuses on genitourinary, thoracic, and central nervous system cancers, with particular expertise in innovative approaches to prostate cancer treatment, including MRI-directed SBRT microboost techniques and the integration of advanced technologies for precision treatment delivery. He has been at the forefront of developing clinical trials and has led several successful investigator initiated trials for novel treatments of prostate and lung cancers.
Dr. Lischalk has published over 75 peer-reviewed articles and regularly presents his research at national and international conferences. Since 2015, he has maintained a research collaboration with Heidelberg University Hospital/Ion Therapy Center in Germany, one of the world's premier centers for advanced radiation techniques including carbon ion therapy.
Beyond his clinical and research work, Dr. Lischalk is committed to medical education, having mentored numerous medical students, residents, and fellows throughout his career. He is actively involved in clinical trials and innovative treatment approaches for cancer patients, with a commitment to advancing radiation oncology techniques that improve outcomes while minimizing side effects.
