MedStar Health at Lafayette Centre is home to more than 60 physicians offering 15 specialties including outpatient surgery, primary and preventive care, cardiology, urology, men’s and women’s health, and high-end imaging services. The 112,000-square-foot facility is located at 1133 21st St., NW, and offers plenty of dedicated, on-site parking.
As an all-in-one multispecialty center, MedStar Health at Lafayette Centre offers patients the convenience of being able to get a medical image or laboratory test on the same day as their doctor’s appointment, if needed. It also provides a collaborative environment that enables clinicians to easily consult with each other in real time.
A Game Changer
Services include the MedStar Health Orthopaedic and Sports Center, which was designed with input from professional athletes and will serve as a national sports destination for a wide-range of individuals looking to receive care—professional athletes to collegiate and high school athletes, weekend warriors, and amateurs alike.
The center features fellowship-trained physicians, physical therapists, and athletic trainers who will assist patients in optimizing their performance, and recovering from injuries so they can get back into the game, their weekend warrior pursuits or active lifestyle. MedStar orthopaedic and sports medicine experts are medical providers for eight professional teams, 18 colleges, and 34 area high schools. The Sports Medicine team includes 54 sports medicine physicians, 75 sports therapists and 31 athletic trainers. The center features a basketball court, a running track with pressure plates and a moveable pitcher’s mound, all under the surveillance of ultra-high-speed video shot from rail-mounted cameras that enable state-of-the-art motion analysis. A ballet therapy area and comprehensive rehabilitation gym are also included in the center, along with an orthopaedics clinic and state-of-the-art MRI and other diagnostic imaging modalities.
MedStar Health at Lafayette Centre is easily accessed by Metro’s Blue, Orange and Red lines, and offers free Wi-Fi for patients’ convenience.
