About me
Dr. Doman is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Gastroenterology. Dr. Doman received his MD from Eastern Virginia Medical School and completed his internship and residency at Yale-affiliated hospitals and his fellowship in gastroenterology at George Washington University School of Medicine.
He is recognized as one of the region’s best gastroenterologists by Washingtonian Magazine, Castle Connelly, Checkbook, and U.S. News & World Report. Dr. Doman is a member of the Montgomery County Medical Society, American Gastroenterological Association, and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and past Chairman of the Patient Education Committee for the National Foundation for Ileitis and Colitis of the National Capitol Area.
His GI interests include inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, celiac disease, and liver disease.
Dr. Doman has delivered over 350 lectures nationally and internationally on a variety of topics in gastroenterology and hepatology. He is a physician member of the American Liver Foundation. He has authored or coauthored over 50 papers published in peer reviewed medical journals and is a member of the editorial staff of the peer-reviewed journal “Gastroenterology and Hepatology.”
Since 2013, Dr. Doman has served as host and medical editor of the healthcare T.V. show “Housecall” broadcast on Montgomery County public television channel 16. The show can be viewed on channel 16 nightly at 8:30 PM or viewed anytime/anywhere via internet video streaming at www.mmctv.org.
Dr. Doman and his wife, Penny, reside in Montgomery County. They have three married children and five grandchildren. Dr. Doman enjoys long-distance hiking, biking, swimming, and international travel. His hobby is creative writing. He has published two novels, “National Pastime” and “Heartbeat.”
Dr. Doman enjoys gastroenterology serving in the role of medical detective. He appreciates that he has elegant endoscopic state-of-the-art equipment to assist with the diagnosis and therapy of digestive disorders. Ultimately what matters most to him, as a physician, is listening to his patients to make them well.
