About me

Dr. Korin Hudson is a Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine at Georgetown University School of Medicine and practices Sports Medicine and Emergency Medicine with MedStar Health in Washington DC and Northern Virginia. Dr. Hudson received her undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia where she studied bioethics and sports medicine as part of the Echols Scholars Program. She graduated from the University of Virginia School of Medicine and remained at UVa for her residency training in Emergency Medicine before completing a fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine at MedStar Washington Hospital Center.

Dr. Hudson has been on faculty at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital since 2006.  She is the Team Physician for Georgetown University Athletics, the Washington Wizards, and the Washington Mystics, and a consulting physician for the Washington Capitals and the Maryland Jockey Club where she serves as their EMS Medical Director. Dr. Hudson has also served on the Big East Conference Health and Safety Committee, the NCAA Division I Concussion Safety Protocol Committee and is currently on the NHL Emergency Action Planning Committee, the NBA Emergency Preparedness Committee, and the World Athletics Expert Advisory Board. 

As a former paramedic and certified athletic trainer, Dr. Hudson enjoys working as part of the sports medicine "team" and enjoys the multidisciplinary approach to athlete care. In her office practice she treats a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries and concussions, with a particular interest in caring for athletes of all ages and abilities.

She is conducting ongoing research on concussion, heat related illness in athletes, and emergency action planning and response as well as the role for medical simulation in out of hospital education and emergency training and preparedness.  Dr. Hudson is also involved in community outreach and education with youth sports groups regarding safe and healthy athletics participation.

    Wow. Dr. Hudson is one of the best doctors we've ever seen. We were incredibly impressed with her and her breath of knowledge and skill and explaining complex physiological phenomenon to us she made us feel right at offered a variety of solutions and we could not have been happier with our experience with her.
