Charles R. “Chuck” Conner III is vice president of Government Affairs for MedStar Health. In his role, he leads the Government Affairs team with a focus on advancing the system’s mission—to serve our patients, those who care for them, and our communities—by enhancing the presence and voice of MedStar Health across Maryland and the Washington, D.C., region through local legislative bodies, federal administration and regulatory agencies. He is also tasked with playing a key part in building and cultivating MedStar Health’s relationships with industry, business and community organizations.
Prior to joining MedStar Health, Conner worked for Venable LLP, where he was a member of the state and local government practice. Prior to Venable, Conner held several significant roles that included serving as director of Government Affairs for Baltimore County Executive John Olszewski, deputy state director for United States Senator Chris Van Hollen, chief of staff to Maryland Delegate and House Judiciary Chairman Luke Clippinger, and executive director of the Maryland Democratic Party.
Conner holds a Bachelor of Arts in religion from Davidson College, a Master of Divinity from the Divinity School at Duke University and a Juris Doctor from the Charleston School of Law.
