President of MedStar Harbor Hospital since 2020, Jill Donaldson, FACHE, is responsible for the overall strategic and operational direction of the hospital. She is also a senior vice president for MedStar Health.
Donaldson has a long history of roles with increasing responsibilities within MedStar Health. She previously served as vice president of operations at MedStar Harbor Hospital and MedStar Medical Group.
Other MedStar Health roles have included being vice president of perioperative services at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, where she also held positions as vice president of cancer and neurosciences and director of Women’s Services. In addition, she worked at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital as administrator for cardiology and for the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, and in MedStar Health’s corporate offices in strategic planning services and research administration.
A fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Donaldson is a member of the Board of Directors for the South Baltimore Gateway Partnership. She is the Chair of the Maryland Hospital Association’s Task Force on Maryland’s Future Health Workforce, as well as a member of the Maryland Hospital Association’s Council on Legislative and Regulatory Policy. Donaldson also serves as the Treasurer for the Maryland Association for Health Care Executives.
In 2023, she was named one of Maryland’s Top 100 Women by The Maryland Daily Record and “Women hospital presidents and CEOs to know” by Becker’s Hospital Review.
Donaldson received her bachelor's degree from Tufts University and her master’s degree in health services administration from the University of Michigan. She earned a program certificate in leadership development from Georgetown University.
