Shayna Frost, RD, LDN, is a registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator who works for the MedStar Diabetes Institute in Washington, D.C., Her role involves seeing patients in the MedStar Diabetes Pathway, an intensive multidisciplinary outpatient program focused on diabetes medication management and survival skill education for patients with type 2 diabetes. She also has a strong background in working with patients with end-stage renal disease, which led her to become a board-certified renal specialist (CSR).
Frost currently serves on the board of advisors for the Women’s Interprofessional Network through the American Diabetes Association, and volunteers for the Diabetes Care and Education and Renal Nutrition Dietetics Practice Groups within the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She has also received her certificates in adult weight management level I and II by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, and has worked in the hospital, corporate wellness, and outpatient healthcare industries. She holds a bachelor’s degree in nutritional sciences from Pennsylvania State University.
