About me
Dana Sloane, MD, is a general gastroenterologist who practices at MedStar Health. She diagnoses and treats patients who suffer from gastrointestinal and liver conditions, with a goal to help patients understand and manage their medical conditions effectively. Dr. Sloane is board certified in gastroenterology, and has also achieved key procedural certifications, including diagnostic and therapeutic upper endoscopy, enteroscopy, and colonoscopy; small bowel capsule enteroscopy; and fibroscan interpretation. She is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American Gastroenterological Association.
Dr. Sloane sees patients age 18 and older, and accepts new patient appointments at the Center for Digestive Disease, located at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center. In addition to providing comprehensive clinical care, she is committed to patient education. Through her interactions with patients and families, Dr. Sloane advocates for colon cancer screening, and the importance it plays in early detection.
Philosophy of care
“I believe it is important for physicians to listen, support, counsel, and guide our patients. I have found that in many cases, our willingness to lend an ear or a shoulder to our patients is as important as the clinical approaches that are taken. I care deeply about my patients and want them to feel heard and supported throughout their process of care.”
