About me
A dual fellowship-trained physician, Dr. Lynes’ compassionate, patient-centered philosophy informs every aspect of his practice. He is a member of the American Medical Association, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Society for Neuro-Oncology, and Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer. Dr. Lynes has published over 25 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and presentations at national professional conferences on various topics within neurosurgery.
Understanding patients, their lives, and how their disease affects the way they live and want to live are central to Dr. Lynes’ work as a neurosurgeon. This human-centered approach is foundational to how he tailors treatment plans for each individual patient. Dr. Lynes, who is the first person in his family to go into medicine, chose to specialize in neurosurgical oncology because he has experienced for himself the fear and anxiety neuro-oncology patients and their families go through. “My connection to what I do is personal and it informs the way I work with patients, how I feel about their outcomes, and what their experience is like under my care. It’s something I take great pride in,” Dr. Lynes explains. “I’m invested in my patients and how they are doing long after I’ve treated them,” he adds. “The nature of neuro-oncology is that a person may never require surgery, but that doesn’t mean I don’t do everything in my power to make sure they get the right care by the right people. My goal is not to find people that need surgery, but to find the right care for people.”
