About me
Dr. Jonathan Patrick, MD, is a board-certified clinical cardiologist and Vice President, Clinical Quality for MedStar Health. Dr. Patrick’s professional focus is within MedStar Health’s Institute for Quality and Safety designing health delivery systems that provide the highest quality, most efficient, and safest care possible for patients.
Clinically, Dr Patrick specializes in non-invasive cardiology, preventive cardiology, and diagnostic testing. He treats patients with valvular heart disease and/or acute cardiovascular illness, as well as patients who are experiencing heart failure as a result of coronary artery disease or other causes. Dr. Patrick performs diagnostic testing such as echocardiography as well as cardiac stress testing.
Dr. Patrick attended medical school at Georgetown University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and his fellowship in cardiology at the MedStar Washington Hospital Center. Dr. Patrick received an award in 2015 as a top educator of internal medicine residents, as well as an award in 2016 for innovation within the Medstar Heart and Vascular Institute.
Philosophy of Care
“As a cardiologist I feel my job is to understand, in the most fundamental way possible, what is wrong with the person’s heart, how that is affecting their life, and what it means for that person in the long run. I communicate this to my patients, and I work with them to come to a decision on how to move forward together.”
