About me

Mihae Shin-Diep, NP, is a board-certified acute care nurse practitioner (ACNP-BC) at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and MedStar Health at Chevy Chase Outpatient Clinic. Mrs. Shin-Diep completed her nursing degree at Columbia Union College and obtained her Master of Science degree in ACNP at Georgetown University. She is a member of the Society of Vascular Nursing and a recipient of the University of Maryland Medical Center Living Excellence in Nursing Award.

As an outpatient advanced practice provider, Mrs. Shin-Diep supports MedStar Health vascular surgeons, but as an independent healthcare provider, she manages the spectrum of vascular surgery diseases.

Advocating for and educating her patients lies at the heart of Mrs. Shin-Diep’s practice. With over ten years of bedside critical care nursing and sixteen years as a surgical NP, Mrs. Shin-Diep brings a wealth of knowledge to her role as an outpatient vascular surgery provider. She strongly believes that it is her role to help her patients navigate their condition and treatment via excellent communication with referring physicians, consultants, and patients. Dedicated to a whole-patient approach, Mrs. Shin-Diep seeks to not only treat the patient’s main condition but to support all their needs.

When she is not working at the hospital, Mrs. Shin-Diep loves spending time with her husband and two wonderful children.

Philosophy of Care

“I love my job. Taking care of people is my passion, and I want my patients to know that I am their greatest advocate. I treat all of my patients as I would expect my loved ones to be treated. When my father was diagnosed late with cancer, I took care of him until the end. I know what it is like to be on the other side, and it is with that mindset that I care for my patients.”

Mihae said I'm doing very well since I wear my support stocking and continue my habit of one mile walks. She said see you next year and keep it up. Thank you.
