About me

Victoria Greenberg, MD, is a board-eligible maternal-fetal medicine attending physician affiliated with MedStar Washington Hospital Center, MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, and MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center. She is also Assistant Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology at Georgetown University School of Medicine.

Dr. Greenberg sees patients for conditions that qualify them as medically complicated or a high-risk pregnancy, including preeclampsia, diabetes in pregnancy, blood disorders, and any fetal anomalies. She works together with the patient’s primary Ob/Gyn to develop a safe care plan that addresses the unique needs of each patient throughout their pregnancy. Among her diagnostic and treatment techniques are ultrasound, amniocentesis, genetic counseling, and diabetic and nutrition teaching.

Her clinical interests include hypertension in pregnancy, diabetes in pregnancy, and placenta accreta spectrum disorders. Her ongoing research interests include aspirin use in pregnancy, the use of ultrasound to diagnose placenta accreta, and COVID-19 in pregnancy. She has previously participated in research that looks at vaccine safety in pregnant women.

Dr. Greenberg is excited about advances in maternal-fetal medicine, including the expansion of non-invasive prenatal testing such as using a blood draw from the mother as an alternative to more invasive procedures, like amniocentesis and CVS.

Pregnant people with cardiovascular disease are especially vulnerable to complications. Dr. Greenberg is eager to expand care involvement to pregnant people with cardiac disease (whether they were born with it or acquired it later in life), working together with cardiology experts at MedStar Washington.

Dr. Greenberg received her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College. She then completed a four-year residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Christiana Care in Delaware before joining Yale University for a three-year specialty fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine. She is a member of the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine.

Dr. Greenberg is fluent in both English and Russian.

Philosophy of Care

“In order for my patients to receive the best care, it’s important that I’m completely transparent with them and that I provide them with all of the information they need to understand their diagnosis and treatment options. I give my patients the information they need and deserve -- I don’t hide anything from my patients.

“I’m dedicated to my patients’ care. I’m committed to discussing any topic until the patient tells me that they fully understand. My detail-oriented nature benefits my patients because it drives me to investigate further to understand complicated symptoms/diagnoses.

“I’m available to assist referring physicians and compliment them in their own care for their own patients, or fully take over care for high-risk patients.”
