Why Georgetown?
Having been in the area for several years, I knew Georgetown was the place where I wanted to train. The culture here is one of collaboration, support, and learning. The Pulmonary/Critical Care Department truly invests in both the welfare and competency of their fellows. As a smaller program, teaching is robust and fellows have a lot of hands on training and mentorship. There are no shortage of procedures, including tracheostomies and IP procedures. The faculty are diverse in their interests and ready to mentor fellows in research and help pave their own path in pulmonary/critical care.
Favorite thing about DC: Living through all 4 seasons here in Washington, DC is truly an unmatched experience! There are plenty of outdoor opportunities and bike trails to revel in fall foliage or spring cherry blossoms!
