Our mission

Mission statement: We envision being the premier healthcare institution in creating positive health outcomes by having the best qualified and educated advanced practice provider team. Accomplishing this through an Advance practice provider enrichment program that not only prepares participants to practice at a higher level but also allows them unparalleled confidence in their skills that will further service the community at large.

The APP Enrichment Program is a post graduate educational program offered to Advanced Practice Providers with less than 2 years of experience in hopes of assisting in a smooth transition into primary care. Over 6-week period participants will engage in several educational activities, while enjoying a curated patient care load. Participants who have completed the full program can gain as many as 17 CEU credits.

Goal: Increase employee engagement and confidence through an expanded knowledge base and comfortability.

  1. Three In-Person Simulation Days:
    • Acute and chronic disease management.
    • Leadership development.
    • In-office procedure demonstrations.
  2. Weekly Online Virtual Learning:
    • Delivered via SiTEL.
    • Systemic overview of acute and chronic disease management
  3. Weekly Mentorship:
    • Includes in-office mentoring and guidance from program leads.
  4. Networking Opportunities:
    • Virtual guest lectures by specialists from across MedStar Health.
    • Access to SiTEL modules tailored to enhance clinical and leadership skills

Curriculum topics include Basic Medical Group Orientation, Cardiac/ vascular system, Labs and imaging interpretation/ Billing and coding, Pulmonary system, Endocrine system, Musculoskeletal System / Dermatology system, and Special Population disease management/ Leadership.
