Dr. Keri F. Kirk is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Family Medicine and Psychiatry at Georgetown University School of Medicine/MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and is the Director of Behavioral Health in the Department of Family Medicine and the Family Medicine Residency Program. She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Howard University and completed both her predoctoral internship and health psychology fellowship within the Veterans Affairs (VA) Health System. Her clinic focus is anxiety, trauma, depression, and health behavior promotion among minoritized groups. Her research examines cardiometabolic health behavior change, racism-based stress and health, and social and contextual factors that impact mental and physical health outcomes among Black women. Dr. Kirk is an inaugural fellow in the University of Michigan Integrative Well-Being and Inequality institute and is a former fellow in the Leadership and Education Advancement Program through the Minority Fellowship Program at the American Psychological Association. She is a board member and Vice President of Diversity for the DC Psychological Association as well as chair of the DC Psychological Association Diversity, Social Justice, and Inclusion Committee. Dr. Kirk’s clinical practice, teaching, research, and advocacy are grounded in her commitment to and passion for social justice and health equity.
