Dr. Keri Kirk is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Family Medicine and Psychiatry at Georgetown University School of Medicine and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital (MGUH). She is the Director of Behavioral Health for the MedStar Health/Georgetown-Washington Hospital Center Family Medicine Residency program and directs the Resident Primary Care Mental Health Integration Clinic, Patient Communication Curriculum, and the Health Psychology Graduate Externship experience at Fort Lincoln. She co-directs our resident wellness program. Dr. Kirk earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Howard University and completed both her predoctoral internship and health psychology fellowship within the Veterans Affairs (VA) Health System. Her research exams health behavior change, racism-based stress, and social and contextual factors that impact health disparities and health behavior promotion among Black women. Dr. Kirk is an inaugural fellow and mentor in the University of Michigan Integrative Well-Being and Inequality institute and is a fellow in the Leadership and Education Advancement Program through the Minority Fellowship Program at the American Psychological Association. She is the co-chair of the DC Psychological Association Diversity, Social Justice, and Inclusion Committee and is in the Black Faculty and Staff Association in the Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Kirk’s clinical practice, teaching, research, and advocacy are grounded in her commitment to and passion for social justice and health equity.
