Gargi Kakani, MD

Born and raised in Mumbai, Gargi moved to Nagpur, a developing city in central India for medical school. She had signed a contract with the government stating that she would work for them for one year after graduating medical school in exchange for subsidizing her medical education. When she graduated in 2020, she chose to offer her services as a frontline worker at the largest public COVID-19 critical care center in Mumbai. Her experiences as a frontline worker paved the way for a degree in public health. She enjoys dancing, cooking, gardening and dabbles in geopolitics.
