Ahssan Balawai, MS, CMD, R.T(T)

Ahssan Balawi is the Lead Proton Dosimetrist at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, specializing in proton therapy treatment planning and development. He earned his M.S. in Medical Dosimetry from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and joined the team in 2019. With over 14 years of clinical experience, Mr. Balawi brings extensive expertise in proton, photon, and brachytherapy treatment planning. He also serves as the proton treatment planning rotation mentor for Georgetown's medical physics residency. Mr. Balawi is actively involved in advancing proton therapy techniques and plays a key role in educating residents and fellows in the field of medical dosimetry. Mr. Balawi’s research interests include treatment planning development and efficiency.
