Alioska Motamedi serves as assistant vice president of Operations for MedStar Medical Group. In her role, she provides leadership and oversight to the operations of more than 30 sites for the Gastroenterology strategic service line spanning the Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C., region.
Motamedi joined MedStar Health in 2014, serving as the Administrator of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy services at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, which later expanded into a regional operations role supporting the Washington, D.C., region clinic, procedural, and hospital sites.
Prior to joining MedStar Health, Motamedi served as the director of Patient Access for Ascension Health’s Providence Hospital in Washington, D.C. Motamedi’s diverse leadership experience also includes healthcare consulting, where she worked with several healthcare institutions nationwide implementing strategic and process improvements in their front-end operations. She also served previously as Healthcare Government Affairs Officer working in healthcare policy on Capitol Hill raising awareness about healthcare disparities. She completed her administrative fellowship at Washington, D.C., Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Motamedi earned a dual bachelor’s degree in psychology and biology from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master of Health Administration Executive Management from George Mason University School of Public Health. Additionally, she completed a Certificate of Medical Bilingual Interpreting at Virginia Commonwealth University – MCV campus.
