Edward Yiming Woo, MD

Edward Woo, MD, serves as president of MedStar Medical Group, where he leads the organization—one of the largest medical groups in the country—as it continues to support MedStar Health’s strategies to organize physicians and physician practices regionally and at a system level. As president, Dr. Woo is responsible for the strategic growth of MedStar Medical Group to complement and enhance the MedStar Health Distributed Care Delivery Network. Guided by Dr. Woo’s leadership, more than 3,600 employed providers and thousands of additional practice associates join in an integrated system focus on practice efficiency, effectiveness, and service excellence.

Prior to this role, Dr. Woo served as vice president of Medical Operations for MedStar Medical Group. He has also served at chair of Vascular Surgery for MedStar Health.

Dr. Woo is an accomplished vascular surgeon. He has a reputation among his colleagues as a hard-working and committed leader with a vision for transformative care. Dr. Woo has published more than 100 papers, and has led numerous clinical trials. He is known and respected throughout the world and is asked to lecture internationally for his expertise in vascular surgery. Dr. Woo attended medical school and completed his residency at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and a fellowship program at the University of Pennsylvania.
