Joshua Malkin
Joshua has written projects for AltaVista [producers of Amores Perros], Giant Door Productions [Chapter 27], Fox Searchlight (through State Street Entertainment) [Barbershop, Men of Honor] and had another script optioned by Nabushea Pictures [Sling Blade, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind]. He has also written and produced three documentaries; two about the art of puppetry, and the other about underground comics. In 2008, his screenplay Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever completed production for Lionsgate. Since then, he completed an adaptation of the 80s cult franchise Beastmaster as well as rewrites on a dozen genre films. He recently completed a supernatural thriller for Australian company See Films and a “re-boot” of the franchise Buck Rogers In the 25th Century. He is currently developing superhero properties for a production company in the Middle-east, another with Jeremy Renner's production company (The Combine), a television pilot for Intrigue Entertainment, a horror movie for Cross Creek Entertainment, and a family-fantasy for Warner Brothers.
Joshua is also an experienced freelance advertising producer, and has managed commercial shoots large and small in the US and abroad, and a professor of creative writing at University of California-Riverside and screenwriting at the UCR Palm Desert Low Residency MFA Program. He is a happy family man and father of two adjusting to suburban life in the San Fernando Valley.
