Amanda L. Barash, MS, PMP, brings nearly twenty years of experience in financial leadership and strategy within complex healthcare systems to the MedStar Health Research Institute (MHRI) team. As the senior vice president and chief financial officer of both MedStar Health Research Institute and MedStar Washington Hospital Center, Amanda has extensive expertise in strategic planning, revenue optimization, operational transformation, and research administration. She is responsible for leading the MHRI research finance team.
Amanda's career encompasses a variety of senior roles, beginning in research administration at Purdue University, where she supported the National Science Foundation Network for Computational Nanotechnology. Her passion for the research mission led her to MedStar and MHRI. Additionally, Amanda has held positions as the Director of Finance at the Indiana University School of Medicine and Indiana University Health, Vice President of Medical Group Finance at Valley Health, and Chief Financial Officer for Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and Sentara Enterprise Pharmacy.
She holds a Master of Science in Technology and Innovation from Purdue University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Indiana Wesleyan University. As a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Amanda combines technical expertise with dynamic leadership to manage complex initiatives and foster sustained organizational growth.
