Sacha is a master’s-trained human factors specialist and a board-certified ergonomist. She is the associate director for the Center for Biostatistics, Informatics, and Data Science at the MedStar Health National Center for Human Factors in Healthcare. She leads several educational initiatives, including academic programs and Human Factors Grand Rounds, and manages research projects to quantify the efficiencies gained from shareable clinical decision support resources.
Her career has focused on researching and implementing strategies to optimize caregiver workflow and efficiency by integrating electronic medical records (EMRs). She has also designed and developed tools and software to improve patient safety and reduce human error.
Her professional affiliations include the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, the Center for Health Design, the Board of Certification in Professional Ergonomics, and the American Industrial Hygiene Association's Ergonomics Committee. Sacha holds a Master of Science in Ergonomics and Biomechanics from New York University and a Bachelor of Science in Human Factors and Ergonomics from Cornell University.
