Michelle Deville is the associate director of cardiovascular clinical trials for MedStar Health Research Institute at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. She graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a bachelor’s degree, double majoring in Criminology and Psychology and subsequently completed her nursing degree at Marymount University in Arlington, VA.
After completing nursing school, Michelle joined Medstar Health as a Registered Nurse and began her career at the bedside at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. She worked on a cardiology unit for 8 years and then joined the nurse float pool gaining exposure to various units and different specialties before being recruited to MHRI’s Cardiovascular Research department in 2009. She began as a clinical trials research coordinator and rose through the ranks to clinical trials manager, and today is associate director of clinical research.
Michelle oversees a team of 15 associates which consists of research assistants, clinical research coordinators, clinical research nurse coordinators, clinical trials managers, and a regulatory coordinator. Her team manages a diverse portfolio of over 100 active cardiology trials working in close collaboration with the physician and clinical provider teams. In her role, she ensures the effective recruitment, enrollment, monitoring, and compliance for the cardiovascular research department.
Michelle currently co-chairs MHRI’s Wellness Committee and is a new member of the Georgetown-Medstar Scientific Council.
