Mary Anne Hinkson is the Vice President of Research Administration. She provides executive oversight of research administration, promotes the strategic use of technology to streamline core research administrative processes, and leads regulatory activities to ensure alignment and compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and industry regulations for research. Several vital areas include overseeing the administrative support office for the Institutional Review Board (IRB), leading the education and training of the research community in support of the ethical human research participants program, guiding the wide range of responsibilities across the grant management life cycle (pre-award services, award set-up, post-award monitoring), governing the full spectrum of the research revenue cycle to maintain research billing compliance, and making recommendations to the Institutional Official (IO) regarding any aspect related to the humane and ethical animal welfare program. Mary Anne's extensive experience includes her role as a cardiovascular technologist in the healthcare setting, where she worked on clinical trials, and transitioned to the life sciences industry to coordinate and lead large-scale clinical trials globally. She worked closely with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the European Medicines Agency (EMA), and Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). Mary Anne received her undergraduate degree in health care administration and earned her Master of Business Administration at George Washington University.
