Candice Vance, MBA, CHRC, is the director of clinical research revenue cycle at MedStar Health Research Institute. In this role, Candice is responsible for providing oversight, education and ongoing support to all areas of MHRI involved in clinical research billing to facilitate compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and policies and communicate on activities to MHRI leadership. Candice serves as a key administrative liaison for MHRI, MedStar Health hospitals, and Professional Support Services (centralized billing office).
Candice is experienced in all aspects of patient accounting, including insurance regulation and coding, and hospital revenue cycle management, including preregistration, registration, charge capture, claim submission, remittance processing, insurance follow-up and patient collections. In 2008, Candice started applying this experience to clinical research. Over the years, Candice has been invited to share her knowledge at many national conferences and serve as a subject matter expert on multiple workgroups for projects outside of MHRI.
Candice attended Towson University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, and a Master of Business Administration. She holds a professional certification in healthcare research compliance from the Compliance Certification Board within the Health Care Compliance Association.
