Hector M. Garcia-Garcia, MD, PhD, is director of angiographic, intravascular ultrasound, optical coherence tomography and near infrared spectroscopy imaging at the Cardiovascular Core Laboratory, MedStar Cardiovascular Research Network, MedStar Washington Hospital Center. 

In this observational prospective cohort study, Dr. Overcash and colleagues assessed gestational weight gain in obese women to determine whether weight gain at a certain point in pregnancy could identify women at risk for excessive gestational weight gain.
