Dr. Tabaie is a Data Scientist at the MedStar Health Research Institute. She holds a Ph.D. in biomedical informatics from Emory University and a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering. Her unique background in machine learning and artificial intelligence has allowed her to apply her expertise to the various objectives in patient safety domain. Her past research has focused on developing predictive models to identify adverse outcomes among hospitalized patients in critical care. Dr. Tabaie currently supports multiple projects in developing machine learning models including Mr. Fong’s MAUDE project, Dr. Miller’s Patient Safety Learning Lab project, Mr. Fong’s FDA BAA award, and the Safe Babies, Safe Moms Data Science project. Through her prior experience in working with the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and Grady hospital, she has hands-on experience in engaging with clinicians through qualitative and quantitative research methods.
