Katie is a data scientist with the MedStar Health National Center for Human Factors in Healthcare. Her research interests broadly include studying the relationship between health policy, health information technology implementation, and patient safety. She enjoys applying data science solutions to healthcare research questions and continuing to advance her technical skill set in the application of machine learning techniques to patient safety data, electronic health record information retrieval, and data visualization.
Katie holds a Bachelor of Arts in neuroscience from Dartmouth College and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in computer science from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Katie lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan and enjoys supporting University of Michigan athletics, hiking in national parks, and traveling whenever possible.
