Laura Schubel is a research specialist at the MedStar Health National Center for Human Factors in Healthcare. In her role, Laura conducts systems-level research within the healthcare organization and the greater community to address health concerns and organizational needs. Laura is primarily a qualitative researcher, focusing on improving the patient experience in the healthcare system through patient and clinician communications, digital health tools, and care coordination between the healthcare system and community organizations. Laura supports and manages several research initiatives between MedStar’s Human Factors and Implementation Science Centers.
She received her Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from George Washington University and her Bachelor of Science in Speech-Pathology from Penn State University. Previously, she worked as a health policy researcher and project manager at Mathematica and a laboratory manager for George Washington University. Laura enjoys crafting, playing cozy video games, and embarking on the eternal pursuit of the ultimate lemon-flavored baked good.
