David has over 20 years of work experience and held a variety of leadership roles within continuous business improvement, strategy, and operational leadership for several Fortune 500 organizations. He began his leadership journey by graduating from Black & Decker’s Manufacturing Management Development Program where he established a solid foundation in business performance improvement and change management.
Prior to joining MedStar Health, David was with the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health-Healthcare System where he had served as Vice President of Performance Improvement and Quality since 2013. At Upper Chesapeake and across the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS), he led several departments with a focus on driving clinical and operational excellence. He established the UMMS continuous improvement methodology and was the architect for system-wide deployment.
