Professional summary
In her role as program director for Performance Improvement (PI) Training and Education, Katy is responsible for developing standardized curriculum and educating MedStar Health associates throughout the system in PI methodology and tools.
Katy has 19 years of healthcare experience in all settings of the healthcare spectrum. She is a physical therapist by background, but developed a love for PI during her first Lean Six Sigma class while she was the director of Wellness and Rehab Medicine at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center.
After obtaining her black belt certification in Lean Six Sigma, Katy left that role to pursue full time PI work as the director of Performance Improvement and Quality at University of Maryland Rehabilitation and Orthopaedic Institute. In that role, she established the Performance Improvement and Daily Management foundation for the hospital.
