The MedStar Health Department of Colon and Rectal Surgery at MedStar Washington Hospital Center is a regional, national, and international destination for complex and comprehensive colorectal surgical care.
Our colorectal surgery program is the largest and oldest practice within Washington, DC, specializing in treating all diseases and disorders of the colon, rectum, and anus. We have expertise in the treatment of anal, colon and rectal cancer, complex inflammatory bowel disease, and pelvic floor dysfunction. Our department is certified by the National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer (NAPRC), providing the highest level of comprehensive cancer care for our patients.
Our surgeons are all fellowship trained, dual board-certified colon and rectal surgeons, and our multidisciplinary integrated teams coordinate every step from start to finish, providing each patient an integrated, comprehensive, and coordinated plan of care.
