Deana Stout is chief financial officer (CFO) of MedStar Health in the Baltimore Region, which encompasses MedStar Harbor Hospital, MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center, MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital and MedStar Union Memorial Hospital.
With more than 30 years of experience, Stout is responsible for the overall financial health of the organization. This includes budgeting for the hospitals and making decisions about resource allocations. She also oversees patient admissions, registration, and health information management.
Stout first joined MedStar Health as a college intern at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital. She then transitioned to various roles within the organization such as account manager, rates and reimbursement manager, and then chief financial officer in the Baltimore Region, where she remains today.
A certified public accountant, Stout earned a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in healthcare administration from The University of Baltimore and a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Towson University. Additionally, she completed the Georgetown University Executive Development Institute Program and received the Lean/Six Sigma Quality Improvement Green Belt Certification.
