Barrington A. Quarrie, MD, was born in Englewood, NJ but grew up in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He received his undergraduate degree from Duke University with a B.S. in Psychology with a concentration in Neuroscience and minors in Biology and African and African-American Studies. While earning his MD at Wake Forest School of Medicine, he completed a year-long research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). He then completed his adult psychiatry training at Wake Forest School of Medicine, becoming one of the chief residents as a PGY-III before fast tracking into Child and Adolescent Psychiatry training at MedStar Georgetown. His career interests include school-based mental health as well as adolescent and teenage development and a focus on underserved communities. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, exploring different hiking trails and supporting his favorite sports team, Liverpool FC. He is excited to be part of the Hoya family.
