Tricia Lemelle MD, MBA was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with minors in Spanish and Chemistry from Xavier University of Louisiana. She earned her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Health Sciences while concurrently earning an MBA in Healthcare Management. She completed adult psychiatry training at Virginia Tech Carilion SOM prior to fast-tracking into Georgetown’s CAP fellowship. She has served on multiple committees and councils in organized medicine, including the American Medical Association’s Committee on Business and Economics, the American Psychiatric Association’s Council on Minority Mental Health and Health Disparities & Council on Healthcare Systems and Financing, and AACAP’s School’s Committee. She is a former APA Diversity Leadership Fellow and an AACAP/SAMHSA Fellow where she dedicated her service to multiple projects and crafted policy focused on health equity for underserved minority groups. She is currently a fellow co-chair on MedStar Health Academic Affairs Working Group for Racial Justice.
