John Rockwood is president of MedStar National Rehabilitation Network and a senior vice president for MedStar Health. As president, Rockwood oversees the overall operational and strategic direction for MedStar National Rehabilitation Network, its physician centers, and numerous regional rehabilitation therapy centers.
Rockwood has been with MedStar National Rehabilitation Network for more than 20 years. Before being appointed president in 2009, he served as senior vice president and chief operating officer. He has spent his entire career with MedStar National Rehabilitation Network and MedStar Health, holding a variety of positions throughout his tenure, including director of development, assistant vice president of development and contract services, and vice president of general services. He has been an integral part of MedStar National Rehabilitation Network operational and strategic growth over the years, and was a member of MedStar Health's inaugural Executive Development Institute Class in 2004.

Rockwood is the past chair and a current board member for the District of Columbia Hospital Association’s (DCHA) board of directors. The American Hospital Association and DCHA recognized him in April 2013 as Washington, D.C.,'s “Grassroots Champion,” an award for his committed hospital and community advocacy. He currently serves on the boards of MedStar National Rehabilitation Network, District of Columbia Hospital Association (Immediate Past Chair), Marymount University, and American Medical Rehabilitation Providers Association. Rockwood is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), and was awarded the ACHE Early Career Healthcare Executive Regent's Award in 2003.
