  • Robert Metzger, PT, DPT, Clinic Director

    Robert Metzger’s undergraduate degrees include a bachelor of arts in philosophy and a bachelor of science in exercise physiology from Howard University. Robert has earned a doctoral degree in physical therapy from Emory University, and has also completed a sports medicine residency at the University of Rochester.

    In 2015, Robert was chosen to be a Kevin Wilk Travel Fellow and studied sports medicine with national leaders in sports physical therapy at Stanford University, University of Wisconsin, and University of Cincinnati. He is recognized as a certified exercise physiologist from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). 

    Robert has been researching primary ACL repairs and recently became a board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist (OCS). Robert has SCS sports certified therapist in addition to OCS. He is also a faculty member for the MedStar Health Sports Physical Therapy Residency. He specializes in the following areas:

  • Suzanne Cowan, PT, DPT

    Suzanne Cowan received a doctoral degree in physical therapy from Drexel University. Her undergraduate degree is in psychology with a minor in biology from Binghamton University.

    Suzanne completed an orthopedic residency with Evidence in Motion in 2014. She is a board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist (OCS) and holds a competency-based certification in vestibular rehabilitation through Emory University. Suzanne is a member of the orthopedic section and vestibular special interest group of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).

    Suzanne has served as a continuing education board member for the APTA of Maryland since 2006. She is passionate about education and has been involved with the Environment of Learning education committee. Her clinical interests include rehabilitation of non-operative and post-operative orthopedic conditions, post-concussive syndrome, and vestibular patients. Suzanne specializes in the following rehabilitation areas:

  • Karen Hill, PT, DPT

    Karen Hill received her bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy from the University of Cape Town in South Africa. She also completed her doctoral degree in physical therapy from Utica College. Karen is a board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist (OCS) and her rehabilitation specialties include:

  • Christa O'Brien, PT, DPT

    Christa O’Brien received her bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation science with a certificate in pathokinesiology in rehabilitation from the University of Pittsburgh. She then went on to complete her doctoral degree in physical therapy at the University of Delaware.

    Christa has a broad interest in orthopedics and manual physical therapy. She recently became certified as a myofascial trigger point therapist (CMTPT) and is also a board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist (OCS). Christa also has an interest in concussion management and vestibular patients, and she looks forward to getting certified in this population next. Her rehabilitation expertise includes:
