Welcome to MedStar Health Psychiatric Partial Hospitalization Program at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital
Psychiatric Partial Hospitalization Program provides intensive psychiatric care for patients requiring a structured day program. Multidisciplinary services include diagnostic evaluations, crisis intervention, medication management, group therapy, art therapy, occupational therapy, mindfulness and CBT. The center operates Monday through Friday.

Compassionate Patient Care
The Department of Psychiatry of MedStar Georgetown University Hospital provides comprehensive programs in clinical care, education, research and community outreach. In concert with the broader mission of MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, the mission of the Department of Psychiatry is:
- To provide compassionate, ethical, and scientifically based patient care

- In order to address the mental health needs of diverse underserved populations in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area, the Center for Mental Health Outreach affiliated with the department promotes and facilitates effective mental health services through collaboration and dissemination of best models of care within the community.
Mental Health Care Inpatient Unit
This unit provides psychiatric hospitalization for patients with acute psychiatric problems such as depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. Our team of experts use a multidisciplinary approach that includes pharmacotherapy; individual, group and family psychotherapy; occupational, art and pet therapy; patient education; and acute case management. Also, the unit specializes in treating patients with co-morbid medical and psychiatric diagnoses.
Psychiatric Partial Hospitalization Program
Located in the Department of Psychiatry's outpatient center, the PPHP provides intensive psychiatric care for patients requiring a structured day program. Multidisciplinary services include diagnostic evaluations, crisis intervention, medication management, group therapy, art therapy, occupational therapy, mindfulness and CBT. The center operates Monday through Friday.
