How we can help lower the cost of your medication
There may be times where you are prescribed a medication that your insurance plan does not cover. When that happens, we will work diligently to lower your drug cost by appealing coverage decisions with your insurer, working with your provider to switch to a medication that is covered, applying valid manufacturer discounts, or seeking other financial assistance options. Our team can also help answer and address questions related to prior authorizations or insurance coverage. We will research all options to make your medications as affordable as possible.

Meet the team
The MedStar Health Specialty Pharmacy care team is comprised of Specialty Pharmacy Liaisons and Clinical Pharmacists that work together to support your clinical team and your patients.
- Specialty Pharmacy Liaisons are trained pharmacy technicians that are integrated with the care team in your clinic. They provide support for prescription prior authorizations, patient financial assistance, personalized patient refill coordination, and more.
- Clinical Pharmacists provide ongoing support for your patients for the duration of their therapy. Our clinical pharmacists work to monitor side effects, drug interactions, and the clinical effectiveness of the medication. They have full access to the EMR, and can communicate directly with you as the Provider, or your clinical team, when concerns arise.
