MedStar Health Names Zeena Dorai, MD, Chief of Neurosurgery at MedStar Union Memorial and MedStar Good Samaritan Hospitals

Baltimore—(June 1, 2016)—MedStar Orthopaedics has named Zeena Dorai, MD, FACS, chief of Neurosurgery at MedStar Union Memorial and MedStar Good Samaritan hospitals. As a board-certified neurosurgeon, Dr. Dorai brings over 11 years of experience in diagnosing and treating disorders, conditions and injuries of the brain and spine.

With extensive expertise in the surgical treatment of degenerative cervical and lumbar spine disease and brain conditions, Dr. Dorai also has advanced fellowship training in treating tumors of the brain and spine. Her philosophy of care is to perform the least invasive, most effective procedure available, specifically tailored to each patient.

Dr. Dorai attended medical school at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA. She completed an internship in General Surgery at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center/Parkland Memorial Hospital, Dallas, TX, where she also completed a residency in Neurosurgery. She then went on to accomplish a fellowship in Neurosurgical Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.  

Dr. Dorai has authored articles and chapters in spine reconstruction, brain tumors and cerebrovascular surgery. She has given numerous local and national presentations and served as faculty for surgical courses at national neurosurgical meetings. Dr. Dorai is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. She has been selected by her peers as a “Top Doctor” in Baltimore magazine.
