MedStar Orthopaedics Program Enhances Clinical Expertise in Baltimore Area
Baltimore, MD—(November 10, 2017)— Three new physicians specializing in hand surgery, spine surgery and trauma surgery, have joined the nationally recognized MedStar Orthopaedics team in Baltimore.
The Baltimore MedStar Orthopaedics program is comprised of over 80 physicians to ensure best patient access to the quality, safety and clinical excellence synonymous with MedStar Health.
Patients can see physicians at multiple locations, including the new MedStar Health at Timonium site, MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center, MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital, MedStar Harbor Hospital, MedStar Union Memorial Hospital, The Curtis National Hand Center, and more than 20 community locations.

Aviram M. Giladi, M.D., is a fellowship trained hand and upper extremity surgeon at MedStar Union Memorial’s Curtis National Hand Center, where he treats patients and coordinates medical studies as the center’s research director. His clinical specialties are upper extremity trauma, nerve and vascular problems and arthritis care.
Fluent in Hebrew, Dr. Giladi has extensive research experience in surgical outcomes, post-traumatic impairment and disability, the delivery of upper extremity surgical care and its impact on care giving and policy. He is currently an instructor at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital’s Department of Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Giladi earned his master of science degree in health and healthcare research at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and his medical degree at Vanderbilt University. He completed a residency program at the University of Michigan, where he focused on plastic and reconstructive surgeries, and completed fellowship training at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Training Program, with a focus on hand and upper extremity surgery.

Spine surgeon Bradley Moatz, M.D., will see patients at MedStar Union Memorial, Dorsey Hall Medical Center in Ellicott City and MedStar Health at Hunt Valley. Dr. Moatz specializes in spinal stenosis and degenerative spine conditions, with a focus on restoring functional movement and improving quality of life.
Dr. Moatz is currently researching multi-level cervical fusions and the removal of herniated disc material, known as discectomies. He studies the biomechanics of a modular nucleus replacement system, which replaces problematic discs.
Dr. Moatz earned his medical degree at The Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. He completed the orthopaedic residency program at MedStar Union Memorial and Emory University’s top-ranked spine fellowship.
As an undergraduate, Dr. Moatz was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. He was also accepted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, which indicates superior academic performance, leadership, professionalism, a firm sense of ethics, future promise and a commitment to service during medical school.
