MedStar Health Opens New Outpatient Surgery Center in Annapolis

Expertise now available demonstrates commitment to Annapolis community.

Annapolis, Md – Patients living in the Annapolis area now have access to MedStar Health surgical specialists and the latest in surgical techniques thanks to a new outpatient surgery center now open. This is MedStar Health’s seventh ambulatory surgery center in the region and joins newly opened orthopedics, physical therapy, and gastroenterology offices plus the same primary care services available for several years, all in the same building. The 10,000 square foot building space at 810 Bestgate Road is now home to outpatient surgical specialties that include:

• Electrophysiology services
• Gastroenterology procedures including colonoscopies
• Orthopedic surgery including services for hips, knees, shoulders, and on-site X-ray
• Vascular disease treatments
• Pain management

“This new surgery center greatly expands the range of treatments we can now offer our patients in the Annapolis area,” said Angela Catlett, BSN, RN, CNML, director of operations for the MedStar Health Surgery Center at Annapolis. “Surgical services combined with the related non-surgical services and primary care means patients in the Annapolis area have convenient access to the expertise they need all under one roof. Patients can have their outpatient surgeries close to home, and then get their follow up care and even physical therapy before and after surgery in the same convenient location. This new surgery center demonstrates our commitment to providing seamless access to the newest diagnostic technologies and surgical techniques to the Annapolis community.”
