The Breast Center at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center
Our Breast Center at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center offers the latest advanced treatment options for individuals diagnosed with breast cancer. Care for breast cancer involves more than only treating the disease—we provide comprehensive support for the whole person during the different phases of their cancer journey.
We have developed a plan to renovate space in The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Cancer Center building for our new Breast Center. Once complete, this expanded center will complement our multidisciplinary approach. Patients will access all their needs efficiently and easily, from screening and diagnosis to treatment and follow-up care, in one welcoming space. To see this plan come to fruition, we are embarking on a $1 million capital campaign. Through philanthropic partnerships, we can work together to transform the breast center to provide the best possible experience for patients during their breast cancer journey.
Our team typically treats about 400 new breast cancer patients a year. To serve patients even better, we are building a new Breast Center facility that matches the level of expert care we provide. Capital improvements at our hub of cancer care are critical to supporting our patients in the greater Baltimore area. Our goal is to enhance the care experience for our patients and their families by putting breast cancer care services in one central location. The new Breast Center renovation will meet our patients needs in a modern, comforting, and state-of-the-art space, just as we have done at the MedStar Georgetown Cancer Institute in the Bel Air Medical Campus and the newly completed Surgical Pavilion at MedStar Franklin Square.
