Courtney Van Shura, CFRE is the vice president and chief philanthropy operating officer, MedStar Health. In this role, she oversees centralized services, including operations, gift administration, communications, stewardship, event management, financial reporting, and campaign administration.
Courtney has been with MedStar Health since 2013. During that time, she has driven operational efficiencies, aligned philanthropic strategies with organizational goals, and strengthened MedStar Health’s fundraising capabilities.
Courtney holds a Master of Arts in Leadership and Management from Notre Dame of Maryland University, a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from the University of South Carolina, and is a certified fundraising executive (CFRE). She further honed her expertise through the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP)’s Leadership Development Residency Program and was the recipient of the AHP’s 40 Under 40 Program, designed to recognize future leaders within the healthcare philanthropy community.
