As president of the MedStar Health Home Care, Traci Anderson oversees four home healthcare agencies that serve patients throughout Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia. She directs all aspects of the home healthcare company, including skilled nursing, occupational, physical and speech therapy, medical social work, disease management and education, community outreach programs, regulatory compliance, as well as the company's ongoing effectiveness in the MedStar Health continuum of patient care.
Anderson joined MedStar Health in 2009 after 14 years of service with the East Texas Medical Center Regional Healthcare System as a homecare administrator, nurse and case manager. In her previous position as a homecare services administrator, she led all agency operations, guided strategic planning efforts, monitored compliance with federal, state and local regulations and evaluated agency programs to ensure they met patient and healthcare system needs.
As a former nurse and case manager who redirected her career toward healthcare administration, Anderson takes great pride in her first-hand patient care experience and truly understands the challenges facing clinicians in the field.
Anderson earned a Bachelor Degree in business administration with a concentration in finance and a Bachelor of Science in nursing, both from the University of Texas at Tyler. She is active in the National Association of Home Care. Anderson speaks and writes on home healthcare topics and regularly participates in panels and conferences. She is also active in home health education for the community.
