Lisa Cusaac is the Vice President of Nursing and Inpatient Operations at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. In her role, she oversees all inpatient operations and provides executive leadership for our Surgical Services, Nursing Administration, Nurse Recruitment & Retention, and Patient Placement. Lisa began her nursing career MedStar Georgetown as a clinical nurse in the Bone Marrow Transplant/Hematology inpatient unit and has since excelled as a leader in several positions, most recently as the director of Patient Care Services at Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, and previously as the nurse manager of the Oncology Infusion Services/Standard Chemotherapy, Stem Cell Transplant, and Oncology Clinical Trials Chemotherapy Infusion Unit. Lisa earned two Bachelor of Science degrees, one in nursing from Howard University and one in biology for Morgan State University. She also earned a Master of Science degree in nursing from Phoenix University. She has been an active member of the Oncology Nursing Society for the last 25 years and supported multiple ONS programs that encouraged the development of oncology nurses across the country. Lisa recently completed advanced educational programs, including the Wharton Nurse Leadership Program at the University of Pennsylvania and the MedStar Health Nurse Leadership Development Program. She is also a member of the Sigma Theta Tau National Nurse Honor Society.
