Amanda Dyson, MSN, RN, PCCN, CNML is the Director Nursing Practice Innovation and Magnet Program Director. In this role, she promotes exemplary professional practice that is evidenced-based and characterized by collaborative governance and participative decision making.
Dyson’s responsibilities include promoting the implementation and adoption of nursing clinical practice guidelines. She provides oversight to local nursing committees, councils, and champion programs. Dyson partners with the nursing professional development and informatics department to support nursing education and new initiatives. She participates in local and system level performance improvement activities focused on patient safety and experience. Dyson leads the nursing leadership team in the pursuit of the American Nurses Credentialing Center Magnet® designation.
She started her healthcare career in 2001 at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital and has successively advanced from a clinical nurse to her current leadership role. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Maryland and holds a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Arizona with a focus on clinical systems leadership. She is certified in Progressive Care Nursing through the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and is a Certified Nurse Manager and Leader through the American Organization for Nursing Leadership.
