Dawn Yeitrakis, MS, BSN, RN, NEA-BC, CEN is the Vice President Chief & Nursing Officer of MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital (MSMH). In this role, she serves as the nurse leader who maintains accountability for the delivery of the highest standard of nursing care across the organization.
Prior to her current position, Yeitrakis served as the Clinical Manage of the Emergency Department at MedStar Washington Hospital Center 2004-2007, Director of the Emergency Department at MSMH 2007-2018, with a brief, 1 ½ year stint as Interim Director of Women’s Health & Family Birthing Center at MSMH in 2106. In August of 2018, she was promoted to Vice President & Chief Nursing Officer at MSMH which is where she serves today. She has led many quality improvement teams both locally and at the MedStar system level.
Yeitrakis obtained an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing from the College of Southern Maryland in 1996, a BSN from University Maryland in 2001 and in 2012 an MS-Nursing with a focus in Leadership, Management & Education from the University of Maryland as well. She is board certified in Emergency Nursing as well as Advanced Nurse Executive Leadership though ANCC. She is a member of the Maryland Nurses Association, American Nurses Association, American Organization of Nurse Executives and the Emergency Nurses Association.
