Senior Nursing Director Carrie Richardson, DNP, MSN, RN, NE-BC, joined the MedStar Washington Hospital Center leadership team in 2022, bringing nearly two decades of national and international leadership experience to the role. She spent five years in Abu Dhabi as a senior nurse manager with Cleveland Clinic, earning the Maria and Sam Miller Nursing Excellence award for outstanding leadership, and worked in Doha, Qatar, as the director of nursing for Alfardan Medical with Northwestern Medicine (AMNM). She is a member of several professional nursing organizations and holds Nurse Executive Certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). A passionate leader committed to nurse engagement and resilience, Richardson is a recipient of the Dean Legacy Award from Case Western University, where she obtained her DNP, and the 40 under 40 Alumni Award from North Carolina Central University, where she received her BSN. Richardson obtained her MSN from East Carolina University.
