Senior Nursing Director, Resource and Capacity Management

After serving for seven years as the hospital’s nurse staffing manager, long-tenured MedStar Washington Hospital Center nurse leader DeSundera Faison, MSN, RN, was promoted to Senior Nursing Director of Resource and Capacity Management in 2023. Faison joined MedStar Washington in 1997 as a new graduate nurse in a surgical intensive care unit. From there, she transitioned to assistant nurse manager in 1999 in the burn ICU, and later worked as a clinical nurse specialist in critical care and capacity management before becoming the staffing manager. Faison obtained her MSN degree from George Mason University, and in 2024, Faison graduated from the competitive MedStar Health Nurse Leader Development Program, affiliated with the Wharton Executive Education Program.
